What to Expect From Your Wedding Photographer (From Start to Finish)

If you’re planning your wedding and searching for a Kalamazoo wedding photographer, you might be wondering…

👉 What actually happens after we book?

👉 Will they help with timelines?

👉 What does the whole process look like?

I get it—and I’ve got you 🤍

After photographing hundreds of weddings across Kalamazoo and West Michigan, I’ve created a process that’s simple, organized, and completely focused on giving you a stress-free experience.

Here’s exactly what it looks like to work with me from start to finish.

1. The Inquiry + Booking Process

Once you reach out, I’ll send over everything you need:

Package options

What’s included

Answers to your questions

If it feels like a good fit, you’ll:

✔ Choose your collection

✔ Sign your contract

✔ Pay your retainer

And just like that—you’re officially booked 🙌

2. Planning + Timeline Guidance

This is where I really step in to help.

I don’t just show up on your wedding day—I help you plan for it.

We’ll connect:

6–8 months out → Start building your timeline

2–3 months out → Finalize details

Final check-in before your wedding

We’ll go over:

Ceremony timing

Family photos

Sunset portraits

Reception flow

💡 My goal is to make sure your day flows naturally so you can actually enjoy it.

3. Engagement Session (Optional but Highly Recommended)

If your package includes an engagement session (or you add one on), this is where we:

Get you comfortable in front of the camera

Learn how you naturally interact

Capture some fun, relaxed photos

Most couples walk away saying:

👉 “Okay… that was WAY easier than we thought.”

4. The Wedding Day Experience

This is where everything comes together 🤍

When I arrive, I’m not just your photographer—I’m:

Helping fluff your dress

Keeping things on track

Fixing little details

Making sure you feel calm and confident

I’ll guide you when needed, but I’m mostly there to:

👉 Capture real, candid moments as they happen

The laughs, the nerves, the in-between glances…

That’s the good stuff.

5. Sneak Peeks Within 24 Hours

I know how excited you’ll be to relive your day.

That’s why I send a sneak peek within 24 hours—so you have something to look back on right away (and share if you want 😉)

6. Your Full Gallery Delivery

Your full gallery will be carefully edited in my signature:

You’ll receive:

A full online gallery

High-resolution images

Easy download + sharing options

Every image is selected and edited with intention—so your gallery feels like your day, start to finish.

7. Album + Next Steps

If your collection includes a photo book, I’ll guide you through that process too.

You’ll be able to:

Choose your favorite images

Customize your album

Create something you can actually hold onto forever

More Than Just Photos

At the end of the day, this isn’t just about pictures.

It’s about:

The way your partner looks at you

Your parents’ reactions

The quiet moments you didn’t even realize were happening

That’s what I’m there to capture.
